On November 16, 2016 Gulfstream Aerospace announced that it signed an agreement (on November 14) with the Polish Ministry of National Defense to deliver a pair of G550s for VIP transport in 2017. The contract also included a logistics package, technical documentation, pilot and ground crew training, plus operational support. Two aircraft were assigned for this purchase. N547GA (5547) and N554GD (5554). Both aircraft are operated by the 1. Baza Lotnictwa Transportowego (1. BLTr, 1st Air Transport Base) at Warsaw-Okecie. Wojskowe Zaklady Lotniczne (Military Aviation Plant) nr 2 (WZL-2) signed a letter of intent with Gulfstream in May 2017 to create the maintenance center for the two VIP aircraft in Bydgoszcz.

N547GA was ferried from Savannah (GA) to Appleton (WI) on January 11, 2017 for fit-out. The aircraft made a test-flight from Appleton (WI) on June the 17th and flew from Appleton (WI) to Hamilton, Bermuda on the 18th and was cancelled to Poland on the 19th.

The G550 landed at Warsaw Chopin International airport as 0001 on June 21. 0001 is named "Prince Jozef Poniatowski" and the second aircraft (number 0002) is called "General Kazimierz Pulaski" a military hero of both Poland and the US who lived between 1745 and 1779). 

N554GD (5554) was ferried Appleton (WI) - Bermuda on July 26th, 2017. N554GD registration was cancelled on the 27th. Re-registered as 0002 it arrived at Bydgoszcz on the 28th and finally Warsaw on July 29.
