On the 4th of July 2017, around 13:43 Gulfstream III YV2869 operated by SATA Aero del Ejecutivo ditched into the sea off Macanao, Venezuela. The aircraft was en-route from Caracas-Simon-Bolivar International Airport to Porlamar-del Caribe Santiago Marino International Airport in Venezuela. First flight of c/n 469 was in 1986 and the aircraft was delivered to the Jordanian Government on 23 December 1986. Wearing the civil registration JY-HZH and surrogate Royal Jordanian Airlines color scheme the GIII was operated by the Royal Flight of the Royal Jordanian Air Force until the end of 1997. After this, 469 served for various US companies like Hill Air and Falcon West before the aircraft was cancelled to Venezuela as YV2896 in April 2013.
